January's puppet of the month - Shadow Street Sweeper...

How are you made?
I'm a silhouette, modelled on a real person and then cut out in cardboard. Seen against the screen when a light is turned on behind me.

Where are you from?

I am currently part of the development for Little Match Girl which opens at the Spoleto Festival in May 2016.

Who will you be in the show?

I don’t know yet! But the story is based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale about a small girl living on the street and lighting matches for warmth, which reveal stories around her. At the moment I am part of the world she inhabits.

What’s the best thing about being a shadow puppet?
I can appear and disappear in a moment.

Did you get anything for Christmas?

A lamppost and a city backdrop.
